Henry Kuria Maina
Born in 1985 Henry Kuria Maina hails from Nyahururu , Nyandarua County. Pursued primary studies at Moi Nyeri Complex and proceeded to Ndururumo High School for O levels.
In 2006 trained as a medical laboratory technologist at the Kenya Medical Training College, Nyeri campus.
In his there years of training Haematology and histology subjects were history priority.
He worked at Nyahururu District Hospital for one year during his first internship, while for his second internship he rendered services for three months at Nakuru General Hospital.Upon completion of his diploma in medical lab he worked as a sales person for a leading hospital and lab equipment supplier.
In 2010 Henry joined the media fraternity training with GBS Digital Broadcasting Academy as a news reporter/ presenter. For the last four years Henry has worked with GBS TV within the News Team, majorly focusing on health. He also writes health articles for magazines.
“My passion is to make health a priority across all media platforms. Health should make headlines to instigate political agendas that will spur positive health policies. Haemophiliacs in Kenya represent a bigger population that cannot access quality affordable health services in the 21st century and this should change through the input of all as enshrined within the Kenyan constitution.”
